The World's Largest Fish
The Whale Shark is the largest known extant fish species. It is a slow-moving filter feeding shark. The largest confirmed individual had a length of 12.65 m and a weight of about 21.5 metric tons, and unconfirmed reports of considerably larger whale sharks exist. Despite their tremendous size and intimidating appearance, the Whale Shark it is a docile creature that filter-feeds on tiny plankton.
By participating as a Divemaster and Underwater Photographer in volunteering programs around West Australia, I had the privilege to interact and learn incredible things about this mysterious creatures and their environment.
